What we discovered in our reconnection that took us by storm was a new love, that was stronger and deeper than either of us could imagine or experienced in our lives. The spark was still there and as we reconnected with hours upon hours’ worth of conversations, to the moment we physically hugged at an airport terminal gate, the spark was amplified to volumes beyond our understanding of what love could feel like. This time, the timing was right. Despite our desire to have started this sooner, looking back, we see that every step, every detour, and every missed moment mattered. The years apart shaped us, prepared us, and led us exactly where we needed to be—back to each other.
